Hollingsworth & Vose, a global leader in the supply of advanced materials for filtration, battery separator and industrial applications, has reported that two of its team members are participating as presenters at the Filtration 2012 Conference. Dr. Abdoulaye Doucouré, senior scientist at Hollingsworth & Vose, delivered a presentation on the “Relevance of Filtration Processes in Solid-liquid Separation” yesterday as part of the conference’s Liquid Tutorial. In the presentation, Dr. Doucouré says solid/liquid separation can proceed through different mechanisms driven by forces such as gravity, centrifugation, and electricity/magnetism, or filtering methods including straining, cake filtration, depth filtration and membrane filtration. This class targets liquid filtration and pressure-driven membrane processes. The content was primarily geared towards participants not familiar with the field of liquid filtration and wanted to learn more about the main application areas. In a presentation titled, “Filtering Petroleum-based Liquids,” Andrew Shepard, director of global marketing, will address current industry challenges and how Hollingsworth & Vose’s innovative fuel and hydraulic media meet the latest market needs. The presenation is scheduled for today from 10:10-10:30 a.m. In it, Shepard will address vehicle emissions, stack emissions and fuel economy regulations around the world and how they are changing media requirements. This presentation will focus on the continued necessity for higher efficiency, longer life and lower energy usage when filtering petroleum-based liquids. Hollingsworth & Vose Company is a global leader in the supply of advanced materials for filtration, battery separator and industrial applications. The company operates manufacturing sites and research centers in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
